Introducing our Green Ficus plant, potted in a 7.75" x 8" patterned ceramic pot. Ficus plants are relatively easy once you're able to understand their specifics - they're particular about their environments, but if cared for properly, will thrive!
--- Bright indirect light are ideal for our green ficus plants, and they can still do well with medium light. Direct light may result in scalding of the leaves and leaf loss. Ficus plants do poorly if they are too cold, please keep your ficus away from any drafts or cold areas. Temperatures above 21 C are ideal, but they can do well over 16 C. High humidity is necessary for these guys - it should be regularly misted and can be kept on a water tray with pebbles. Though they love humidity, they do not like their roots to be soaked.
Ficus plants need consistent, but moderate watering throughout the growing season, with dry spells in the winter. Make sure soil is just moist, not dry or drenched, at all times, but cut back waterings in the winter. Your plant will likely lose leaves during the winter "dry" spell. Your plant should be fertilized once a month in the spring and summer, and once every two months in the winter months.
Fun fact: Used coffee grounds make an effective and fast-acting fertilizer as these plants love acidic soil.
--- The Fine Print: Remember each plant is a unique living thing and may have varying needs, especially in their individual locations. We encourage you to do some extra research on your new plant, and pay attention to their condition and watering needs and you will have a long and happy relationship.
